A great friend of mine actually called my first bird in for me and also filmed it as it happened. This hooked me on turkey hunting like you wouldn't believe. So of course, I went and bought a mouth call the very next day. Bad JUJU on that decision. I could not get a mouth call to work no matter how I tried. Me being a wood working fanatic, I researched and started to design and make my very own box turkey calls. I destroyed and threw away a lot of junk but every time I changed something I wrote it down and kept calibration figures in thousands of an inch of what particular component I changed. After about 2 months of making close but not quite right calls, I finally got it and finalized my pattern, and have been making the same size calls ever since.  To the left you can see me at one of my gun show displays.
